The Gulls actually led Es- tacada 7-4 in Tuesday’s open- er before the Rangers staged a late rally, scoring eight runs in WKHLU¿QDODWEDW Seaside’s victory over Ilwaco was technically a come-from-behind win for the Gulls, after the Fishermen scored a run in the top of the ¿UVWIRUDOHDG The Gulls answered with 10 runs in the bottom of the ¿UVW RQ WKUHH KLWV ¿YH ZDONV and three hit batters. After a two-run double by freshman Jetta Ideue, Seaside scored on an error, followed by two runs on consecutive hit batters with the bases loaded; two bases-loaded walks; an- other hit batter with the bases full; an error and a bases-load- ed walk. Seaside showed some of- fense with a run-scoring sin- gle by Alyssa Gonzalez in the second inning, with another RBI double from Ideue. Ideue had a solid perfor- mance in the circle, as she started and pitched three in- nings, then came on in relief in the fourth after Ilwaco VFRUHG QLQH UXQV RQ ¿YH KLWV and four errors, before Ideue took over and struck out the ¿QDOWZREDWWHUV Ideue gave up just one of Ilwaco’s six hits, with six strikeouts and no walks. At the plate, she had two doubles and four runs batted in. Bre Kondos had three hits for Il- waco. The game was stopped af- ter 3 1/2 innings because of the two-hour time limit.
