Track: Seaside wins big in the distance races

Seaside made a big impact
in the distance races, with
Charlotte Blakesley and Josie
Smith running 1-2 in both the
1,500 and 3,000 meters; and
senior Allison Kilday is off
to a hot start, as she swept the
hurdle events.
On the boys’ side, Seaside
won 11 of the 17 events, in-
cluding the sprints — Josh
Chesnut in the 100, Will
Garvin in the 200 and Juneau
Meyer in the 400.
Chesnut added victories in
the long jump and triple jump,
and Garvin won the 300 hur-
dles.
The Gulls were without
distance runners Jackson
Januik and Hunter Thompson,

pressive win in the 3,000, as
he ran slightly behind Warren-
ton’s Jeryd Lewis for much of
the race, then turned on the
afterburners to win.
Astoria scored wins with
Lucas Caruana in the 800, and
