Will Dunlap's jaw is so much
improved that the tin wash tub in
which it has been locked for sev
eral weeks has been removed.
The bone is not yet firmly knitted
but is strongly enough set to per
mit removal of the bandages. A
growth of heavy black beard is all
the observer sees to indicate that
anything unusual has happened to
William. He ; talks of - entering
college at the opening of the
spring term.

Tames Dobbin, a well known
student has been called home on
account ot need for him on the
farm, and he will not be able to
attend college during the spring
term. He achieved distinction as
a crack end on the football team
last autumn. He is an unusually
bright and conscientious young
man, and he has many mends in
and out of college who hope for
bis return at the opening of college
in September.
The complaint about high
taxes is general. . There - are suf
ferers m every direction. One in
terest that gets, hit hard is the
firm of Wilhelm & Sons at Mon
roe. They are affected in four
counties. They have a mill prop
erty in Linn County, on ..which
the valuation is so high that they
wrote the assessor, of Linn county.
