The Unterrified have a candidate
for county commissioner in the field.
He is a man of affairs with a long
head for finance and a lifetime of
ex, erience in Benton county. Best
of all, he is a man of known in
tegrity, a reputation atovereproach
and a Soap Creeker.
The new candidate is Paul Dode
le. He U not unknown to n the
people of Benton. A, good many
years ago he lacked but a few votes
of administering a defeat to that
fine old Benton county farmef,
William Knotts, for the office of
commissioner. When the vote was
counted, in spite of a heavy repub
lican majority, Billy had only fifty
odd votes to the good over Mr.
Dodele. The incident is mentioned
here as showing the strength of the
Soip Creek farmer. ;
The nomination came : to Mr.
Dodele half by accident J half by
design. He was not a candidate.
He has never, infact,sought office
at all. He is a busy farmer engross
ed with the affairs' his' foresight, and
industry have gathered around his
farm home. At the late primaries,
a number of democrats cast their
votes for Mr. Dodele. In all there
were 45. After that, pressure was
brought on him and he agreed to
run. His acceptance was filed with
the clerk last Friday, and his name
will be on the ticket. He is a man,
straight on all questions, and ' ex
tremely well qualified for the posi
tion. He has always been opposed
to the office of roadmasterin Benton
county. '

WomanV Trials,
The hitter trail in a woman's life Is to
ne childless. Who can tH how hard the
striisrg!e may have been ere sho learnt o
resign hersolf to her lowrly lot? The ab
sence of this link to bind marital life
together, the absence of this one pledge
to mutual affection is a common disap
pointment. Many unfortunate couples
become estranged thereby. Even if they
do not drift apart, one may read the whole
extent of their disappointment in the eyes
of such a childiess couple when they rest
on the childrei of others. To them the
largest family does not seem too numerous.
In many cases of barrenness or child
lessness the obstacle to child-bearing is
easily removed by the cure of weakness on
the part of the woman. Dr. Pierce's Fa
vorite Prescription has been the means of
restoring health and fruitfulness to many
a barren woman, to the great joy of the
household. In other, but rare cases, the
obstruction to the bearing of children has
been found to be of a surgical character
but easily removable by painless operative
treatment at the Invalids' Hotel and Sur
gical Institute, Buffalo, N. Y.. over which
Dr. Pierce of the " Favorite Prescription"
fame presides. In all cases where chil
dren are desired and are absent, an effort
should be made to find out the real cause,
since it is generally so easily removed by
proper treatment.
In all the various weaknesses, displace
ments, prolapsus, inflammation and de
bilitating, catarrhal drains and in all
cases of nervousness and debility, Dr.
Pierce's Favorite Prescription is the most
efficient remedy that can possibly biased.
It has to its credit hundreds of thousands
of cures more in fact than any other
remedy put up for sale through druggists,
especially for woman's use. The ingredi
ents of which the "Favorite Prescription "
is composed have received the most
positive endorsement from the leading
medical writers on Materia Medica of an
the several schools of practice. All the
ingredients are printed in. plain English
on the wrapper enclosing the bottle, so
that any woman making use of this
famous medicine may know exactly what
she is taking. Dr Pierce takes' his pa
tients into his full confidence, which he
can afford to do as the - formula after
which the - "Favorite Prescription" is
made will bear the most careful exam
ination. -
Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets are the
best and safest laxative for women.
