There Is no dodging the fact that
Congress is anxious to avoid the con
sideration of all legislation at this
session except what It simply must
take up. Statehood or New Mexico
and Arizona, reapportionment, direct
elections of senators, Panama Canal
tolls, Panama Exposition . matters,
army leglslaton, conserration legisla
tion, the control, of orporaUoas
these are some of the things which
are clamoring for attention and which
seem destined to go oyer. An except
ion may be made of a resolution for
' the President to Invite Latin-American
Countries to exhibit at the Panama
California Exposition in San Diego taa
1915, which Cot D. C, Collier, Direct
or General, Is here to urge, as that la
not Is looked on as leglsIatloatylcUy
a peaking.
The , Honduras and Nicaragua
treatiea, Inrorlng loans, are not likely
to go through at this session, and
. there la great disappointment because
the countries to the southward are
pretty hard up and need the money.
