The board of directors of the city
schools Saturday night wrestled with
the election of teachers for the corn
ice school year nntll close to midnight
and then adjourned until next Wednes
day evening, whon a coeJerence will
be held between tbe directors and a
committee of three teachers .relative
to the petition of the local pedagogues
for an Increase In salary. Until this
conference is neld ne action,. wUl be

56 and a maximum of $60. while the
