Do You Remember?
Stories of the Old Pioneers and

Do you rtmember the "Booster"
days they used to have in Oregon City
and the long parade headed by a
brass band? Everybody and his grand
mother were there. They had seats
(real ones) nail kegs and boxes with
long boards laid on them between the

boy, what a grand and glorious feel
ing" to find a space big enough to
sit down and rest the tired feet
awhile. A feeling of gratitude was

the new way is "seatless'. The only
place Oregon City has for tired pe

the concrete fence foundation in front
of the Courthouse. Buckles Grocery
is the only place I know of with a
rest seat visible. Having had a "very
recent experience escorting an aged
couple on a shopping trip, this is
written for the good it may do.

I lived in Oregon City 1S91 to ISMS

years ago. I watched the old planing

at Mr. Eastham's funeral. I saw the

stalled between Greenpoint and
Gladstone, and Main Street had some
wet areas.
I remember when Pope's Hall was
the only "Opera House." There I
