Goats Said Asset to
Logged off Lands
Throughout Oregon
The editor of the Angora Journal
suggests that with the prevailing
prices of mohair, there is a splendid
opportunity lor those owning logged
off or brush land to utilize the same
by raising Angora goats, as they will
profit by the industry. (During the
past year a large number of the farm
ers of Oregon have become interested
in the mohair business, having pur
chased the best of stock for the head
of their herds.
The May issue of the Angora Journ
al, A, C. Gage, editor and publisher,
winter in Oreeon City, is off tne
press, and contains a number of valu
abl articles on mohair, and illustra
tions for the text. One of these ar
ticles is by S. Banks Hollings, editor
of the Wool Record and Textile
World, who is also British correspon
dent for the Angora Journal.
Among the illustrations are some of
the famous goats of William Riddell
and Sons, of Monmouth, Oregon,
wiinoA o-nst si orA alwavs winners at
the International Livestock Show held
each year in Portland, also S. F.

NEW NORTHWEST MAP IS
WORK OF TOURIST BODY
. Automobile clubs all over the United
States and Canada are showing their
interst in the Pacific Northwest by
their willingness to display the new
wall map of this region which is being
distributed by the Pacific Northwest
Tourist Association.
'In fifteen years experience in tour
ist matters," state Herbert Cuthbert,
executive secretary of the Associa
tion, "I have not known of any piece
of advertising that has been so univer
sally commended and sought after as
this. Upon return to the office after
five weeks in California, I found hun
dreds of letters acknowledging the re
ceipt of the map and asking for addi
tional copies.
"A typical one from Lloyd C. Harris,
secretary of the automobile club of
Holyoke, Mass., says:
" 'It will certainly be a valuable ad
dition to our display of wall maps
and by far one of the most interesting
and attractive. This is just the map
we have been looking for for some
time as it takes in all the territory
in which our members are intersted
who are planning summer tours. Per
sonally I believe that the views on the
border are as much a feature as is
the map itself and there is no doubt
but they add interest and beauty to
it
" I am particularly interested in the
map as I was born and brought up in
(Spokane, so that region naturally
means much to me. If it were possible
we could very conveniently use two
more of these maps.
' 'Many of the letters are in a sim
ilar vein to that of Paul L. Powers of
Boston who writes:
" 'Pour years ago last summer I
&pent some two months in the region
covered by your map. As a summer re
sort I know of no country in the world
that is as attractive. I have already
turned over the map you sent me to
a friend who contemplates making
tbe trip the coming summer, and
should be pleased if you could spare
me a half dozen maps, which I will
use to advertise this region.' "

TWO BOMBERS CONFESS
