fantry. A rfhort program by the school waa
given preceding the entertainment,
and the women of the Women's Relief
Corpa gnve talks and various musical
selections, which were enjoyed by all.
Luncheon had been prepared In tha
Odd Felows' Hall for the visitors,
wftW'h was grcatl appreciated.
The high school girls assisted in
serving, and were daintily attired In
summer frocks.
Following the lunch the drum corps
gave a number of patriotic selections
and members of both organizations
sang some of tho old time aongs.
The visitors left on the 6 o'clock bus
for Oregon City, after thoroughly en
Joying the program, and spoke highly
of the reception given them by the In
structors and tho students.
The veterans and members of the
Relief Corps were received by Mrs. H.
B. Cartlidge, superintendent of the
high school, H. M. Eccles, principal
of the grammar grades, who made
brief addresses.
The old soldiers have already visit
ed nine schools tbia year, and are
scheduled to visit two more, these be
ing the Maple Lane school May 26
and the Willamette, school at a later
date.
Much praise is given the students
and teachers of the schools so far
visited by the old veterans and Uie Re
lief Corps on the manner in which
they have been received.
Mrs. Walter Bennett, the adopted
daughter of the Meade Post No. 2, (.
V TL, accompanied the Post to Canby,
nnd gve one of tier excellent readings
entitled "Joan of Arc," and "responded
to a hearty encore with "Aunt Jemi
ma's Courtship."

entertained the Seniors with a very
pleasant party at the home of Miss
Kdith Samuelson on Friday evening,
April 14th. The decorations, which
wero In, the Senior class colors, purple
and white, and purple lilacs, were ar
ranged very artistically and added
much to the Dlers ire of the evening.
The evening was spent In playing
gnmes, nnd singing, after which a
dainty luncheon was served, consist
ing of sandwiches, salad, pickles,
punch, ice-cream and cake. While the
lunch was being served toasts were
given, which were enjoyed by all pres
ent. Oscar Beatty, -who acted as toast
master, performed his duty well.
At a late hour every one departed
satisfied that thU party was on0 of the
most enjoyable events' of the year.
