J. R. Murphy, probutlon officer of
Portland, was In Oregon City Wednes
day, having come here for the pur
pose of escorting Karl Donkel, of
6843 Woodstock, Portland, and George
Allen Monner, of 6721 Sixty Third
Avenue, Southeast Portland, to their
homes. These lads disappeared In
Portland two weeks ago, and search
for them failed until they were dis
covered by D. E. Front, constable, w ho
was passing along a road near Sunny
side Tuesday, when the two boy
were soen by the officer.
They hid behind a tre but were
too slow, and were grabbed by Frost.
They each had a roll of q.illts and
search lluhtB, and said they were go
ing to Eastern Oregon to work. Their
ages are 13 and 15 years.

. On Wednesday evening a political
club was organized by a largo number
of personal friends ot Thos. F, Ryan,
a former county judge of .Clackamas
county and prosent deputy Treasurer
of the state of Oregon, for the fur
therance of Mr. Ryan's candidacy for
state treasurer.
The unanimous vole of the club was
In favor of Mr. Ryan and the club
was named "Ryun for Treasurer
Club." ,
