Cedarville had a very entertaining
program at the school house Saturday
evening, the Colton Dramatic club fur
nishing part of the program. The
Cedardale society decided on the bell
they are to purchase which they hope
to have ready for use soon, also one
new picture and two chairs for the
school room.
Nine pupils at Cedardale received
diplomas for averaging 9S in four
spelling contests.
Millard Orera being the only boy
in the bunch so lie feels quite import
ant. I. V. Trulllnger's mill is shut down
for repairs for a few days.

passed away in Portland at the home
of her daughters, after suffering sev
eral strokes of paralysis. Mrs. North
was taken to Portland several weeks

stroke. She had many friends here,
who hoped she might recover and en

ed. Her many friends will be grieved
to hear of her demise as she was a
Jolly, lively little woman, patting sun
shine into all who met her. Her
children and father have our sympathy.

versity of Oregon last Friday to say
"good bye" having enlisted in Second
company Coast artillery corps, as a

Stanley Murray, who is in the Good
Samaritan hospital, has been very ill,
pneumonia having developed after his
last operation, but there is now some
slight hope of his recovery.
Dr. Butler's countenance is now
wreathed in smiles, on account of the
arrival of a young daughter, horn on
Wednesday, April 4th.
Mr. Chase, an old Civil War veteran
of this place, went to Vancouver, when
the troops were recruiting, to play
