It Is evident from Recorder Loder's
report that it is a good thing for Ore
con city that the town had its improve
ment fever during the time it was wet
and license money was secured. In a
summary, he says, "Up to the year
1914, the city received from its H-jl914

In exactly 17 minutes a Jury in the
circuit court Wednesday returned a
verdict for the defendant in the suit of
May McFnrland against Minnie R.
Sumner and Marion Sumner. The
plaintiff attempted to collect on a note
for $75, alleged to have been given in
payment for a premium on an insur
ance policy. The defendants live In
the Damascus district.
On the stand in the circuit court, the
defendants declared that they had not
knowingly signed the note on which
the case of the plaintiff was based and
said that they did not even finally agree
to take the insurance.
