A cozy comer ws formed, in which were hung the fancy articles consisting of crochet work, centerpieces, doilies and all kinds of needlework made of the finest linen. Flowering plants were used among the exhibits and formed a larse part of the pretty decorations of the booth. The exhibit from Harlow consisted of all kinds of garden- seeds, melons, rasuberries. strawberries, blackber , strawberries, biackber- ries, vegetables of all descriptions, and fresh fruit, besides butter, eggs, jellies, preserves, cakes, bread, pies, etc. This display received first pre mium, while the booth adjoining that of the Gladstone Improvement Club, received second. Last year the Glad stone Improvement Club received first nrlze. On the second floor was a dairy exhibit, where the freshest butter was to be found. XI. S. Shroek const meted a model cow s'al!, and it is probable that many of the farmers who visited this and viewed with interest, will follow Xlr. Shrock's Instructions. On the grounds were found a merry-go-round, which pleased the yount folks. The concession-! s did not com plain about the weather, as they ail bad a rushing business during the three days or the fair. One of the features of th fair on Friday afternoon xvas the wrestling match between Carl B'isch. the noted wrestler, and "Auk" Smith, of this ri'y. lltis'-h threw his opponent three times in succession, the first time in nine minutes, the second in three minutes and the third in three min utes. This mi'.teh xvas witnessed by a large crowd. Before the match came off Xlr. Btisch gave a free exh. bition from the Judges' stand oppo site the grandstand, of the develop ment of his muscles. This man showed how the wrestling has; devel-, oped his muscles, and used a chain i as an illustration. . On Friday morning the baby show j took place, w hen over r0 babies were ; entered by their proud parents. This was In charge of Mrs. O. E. Fr'iytag. Fat babies, thin babies, striiiing babies j and crying babies were found among I this grand display, and each mother! Doping that her fond one would carry off one of the handsome prizes. Hon. C. II Dxe, of this city, was unaccom panied, hut he came out xvith living banners and xvas awarded the prize; for the oldest Inby, the prize being a! bat and ball.
