An unknown man committed swicide
in the Hnndee field on the northwest
of town yesterday afternoon. The
body was first discovered by Mr.
lloswell, n farmer, passing by on his
way home from Portland and he noti
fied Justice of the Pence, J. rt. Kelso,
who later in the evei-ing h''!d an in
quest. The dead man's watch and an
empty twelve-ounce bottle that had
contained carbolic acid was found
about three hundred feet from where

the body lay. There was nothing on
the body to tell who the unfortunate
man was and there was no money
in his clothing. He was a man about
50 years of age. There is a report
current that a man by the name of
Fted Lincoln, of Vancouver, Wash,
is missing and It may prove that he
is the suicide.

Chas. Rislcy's horse and buggy was
standing in front of the telephone of
fice. The horse became frighiened
by a piece of pjper blowing by him.
He ran and upset the buggy and broke
his harness, wrecking all, but was not
Injured himself. A few dollars will
repair the damage In a short time.
Chas. Vosburg returned from the
coast Friday, after seeing his family
settled in their quarters for the sum
mer months.
