Hart was out from Portland laBt week with party of land Kin-kern. Guy C. Ijirklns closed a very suc cessful term of school May 26. Two of his pupils passed the 8th grade ex amination, Goorpe Roberts and Helen Keith. The basket social given for the benefit of the school netted 44.55. Gaylord' Keith is honif from Esta cada, whero he has been attending high school. Miss Lulu Morrison and friend were out (from Portland over Sunday. Ha by IVshazor Is very much lietter, thanks to Dr. Uipton. Ralph Df harer is still taking treatment for his sore eye. A number of the neighbors and friends of Grandma Cabbage gave her a surprise at the home uf her daughter, Mrs. Cooper. Leah Morrison is home from Sher wood for the summer. Mrs. Irving Jlrown and family, of Boring, were visiting at the Wolf home last week. Mrs. Bradley, of Portland, Is on a visit to her son"s. , Guy Woodle made a trip 10 the green timber on road business Mon day. Eleanor Bews. Harold Miller and Helen Keith are all on the sick list this week. lleorge Wolf has sold part of bis farm. Miss Rosemond Miller Is visiting her brother at IVer Island. Mr. and Mrs. Miller, of Sandy, are coming back to liover to build on their land joining the IVshazer home. Mr. Semister is home from Port land. . Jim Wolf is working at the Kir wood mill. Guy C. The Ktrwood Mutual spent a wry pleasant afternoon with Mrs. Alt Thursday. Those present were Mrs. Fischer. Mrs. Stevens. Mrs. Belle, Mrs. Morley, Mrs. Botholm, Mrs. Malar, Mrs. Hart, Miss Marie Koenicka and Miss Nelson, of Port land. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Fischer, Thursday, June 16. Mrs. B. F. Hart went to Portland Thursday to visit for a few days. W. Stevens, nccompnnled by the Misses Dorothy and MkiJoi-, earn out from IVrtland Saturday. The two girls expect to spend the summer hero. Miss Nelson, of 1 VI land, visited with Mrs. Fischer last week. M. J. Lawless made a trip to Salmon river on his wheel Saturday. The Mt. Ibxiil Fruit Association held a very Interesting meting at Klrwood Hall, last Saturday after noon Several members were out from Portland, and some very Interest ing talks' were given ,by F. W. Power, secretary and treasurer of the North west Fruit and Horticultural Associa tion, also .1. It. Glovfr and Albert Hronell. Several made application for membership. A commltee of the, namely, J. ti. tVshnxer, K. D. Hart, 1?. It. Couper, F. W. .Powers and V. Roberts, was appointed to take charge of the Sandy Grange exhibit this coming fall. Some prominent speakers will attend the next meeting to be held Saturday, June ;.N. B. F. Hart and family Bnd Mr. and Mrs. K. I. Hart look an auto trip to Liberal Sunday and visited 11. A. Hart. From there 1). A. Hart and wife accompanied them to Wllholt Springs, whero they spent Decora tion Oay wry pleasantly. A great change Is being made on road between Sandy and Fir wood. All the large stumps have been dynamited and the roadway cleared of rubbish.. John Kelsecker makes a line road boss and Is doing a good work. Mrs. Umlse Reutter died at her home at Stafford Tuesday night after an lllneaa of two days, death result ing from the effects of a gall stone and heart complications.
