GeorRe Cavallne, of Portland, died at her home on 25th and Moffttt streets. Portland. Thursday night, af ter a lingering Illness of pneumonia. Mm. Cavalinc, who wag formerly Miss Hello Hurley, was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Hurley, ,an Oregon pioneer, and granddaughter of General M. M. McCarver. She spent her childhood days In this city, whore her family resided, before going to Portland, and was well known here. She had been a resident of the latter place for about 20 years. Mm. Cavallne was born at Lowlstou, Idaho. Mrs. Cavallne leaves a husband and two daughters. Marie and Lucretia, her mother, Mrs. Mary Hurley, of Ris ley; one brother and five sisters, who are George Hurley, of Loomis, Wash.; Mrs. Kted Terry, of Oak Grove; Mrs. I,ou Leroy, of Coronado Peach. Cal.; Mrs. CVrrle Pease, Rlsley: Mrs. A. Labowitch, of Portland. The deceased was a niece of Mrs. Marv McCarver, of this city. THURLOW RANDS PASSES. Son of Former Enterprise Editor It Dead at Vancouver. E. Thurlow Rands, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Rands, died at the family home In Vancouver. Wash.. Tuesday night, after a long Illness. Mr. Rands, who was well known here, made his home In Oregon City when a boy his fnther being postmaster and was also editor and proprietor of the Ore gon City Enterprise. He was years of age, and was popular among his associates. Ho leaves two aunts. Mrs. W. A, White and Mrs. J. L. Swaf ford, two uncles, K. P. and Hal Hands, besides his grandmother, Mrs. Rands, all of this city. The funeral services were held Thursday at Vancouver. GOOD SHOW AT ELECTRIC. Marshall Aggregation la Here for Second Week. John Mosher arrived here Sunday, and the funeral service took place Sunday atfemoon at the residence. The remains were taken to Silverton for Interment next Monday morning. L. C. Lamb Succumbs. L. C. Lamb, formerly of Cams, but recently of Portland, died in the lat ter place of tuberculosis, and the re mains were brought here Monday af ternoon for burial. The services were held from the Holman & Myers un dertaking parlors, and were In charge of the I. O. O. F, of -which the de ceased was a member. The Inter ment was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Bowen, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, has arrang ed to give a series of sermons at this church on Sunday evenings for the month of February, the services to be held at 5 o'clock. The following are the dates and subjects: February 6, "The Meaning of Lent"; February 13, "The Prodigal and His Brother"; February 20. "Keeping the Heart"; I February 27, "The Strong Man's Pal ace."
