At , a special meeting of the Mil
waukee Volunteer Fire Department
Monday night, the members voted to
disband on account of the non-support
of the city officials.
J. J. Straight, electrician at the car
shops here has been transferred to
the shops at the O. W. P. dock in
Portland for a few days. He is re
wiring the cars and getting them
ready for the summer run.
The Rose City Shingie Co.'s mill
has been shut down for the last few
days waiting the arrival of a raft of
logs.
Work on the new bank building has
been delayed on account of not being
able to got gravel for the completion
of the basement. Messrs. Toats and
Moran, the contractors, expect to fin
ish the basement, this week.
Alex Flatland, who has been in
New Jersey for two years arrived here
Tuesday. Mr. Flatland was shop fore
man for the O. W. P. for some time
before leaving for New Jersey. He
expects to remain for some time.
The construction of the new resi
dence for Mr. Arighi is being rushed.
The concrete basement being finished
and carpenters will begin on the
frame work at once.
F. C. Harlon, Jr. is just completing
a launch for Dr. Cline and expects to
launch it in a few days. The boat will
be 24 feet long and about live feet
beam and will be equipped with a
ten-horse power Yale gasoline en
gine. Mr. rialow expects the boat to
make a speed of twelve miles an hour.
Mr. Eddy, the purchasing agent on
right of way. Is making good progress
on tbe buying of the right of way
for the B. & W. road through Milwau
kee. As soon as he completes the
purchasing of same, the work , will
start on the new road.

er a short talk on baptism next Sun
day morning at 10 o'clock, after which
the ordinance of baptism will be ad
ministered to a number of converts.
In the evening at 8 o'clock, the pas

The many friends of Rev. and Mrs.
W. B. Moore tendered them a fare
