SHERIFF BEATIE
SELLS CITY LOTS
At 10 o'clock Saturday morning
Sheriff Beatie sold on execution the
property belonging to Mary L. Root
and Mary L. Haley, described as lot
8, block 141, Oregon City, and south
half block 41. The property was bid
in by George M. McGowan, president
of the Ames. Mercantile agency at a
sum to cover the judgment recovered
against defendant, $170, $25 attor
ney's fees, $65.50 costs and accruing
costs.
Way of the Weys.
May Wey has sued for divorce from
her husband, E. H. Wey. The couple
were married in Montana in 1892, and
the husband has deserted his wife
since November" 1903. The defendant
has put in an appearance and con
sents to default being entered against
him.
Eight Cars of Japs.
Eight car-loads of Japs arrived at
11:30 Saturday to go to work on the
Southern Pacific tracks between Ore
gon City and Canemah. The drain
age is to be put in proper shape.
Sold His Saloon.
C. W. Kelly, formerly of Oregon
City, has sold his saloon business in
Portland. Mr. Kelly was visiting here
Friday.
