The following remedy ia proposed to cure the defect that has been found in the direct primary nominating law: Electors may register again while books are open from September 20 to October 20. on the ground that tbe hist regis trations are not complete. Registration made but Spring may ba amended by addition of electors' politi cal affiliations, on the same basis that la permisible to reform a court record. Provision la made that any elector may swear In his vote. Nominations may be made under th provisions of the old law, and election held In accordance therewith, upon tha assumption that tbe new act waa not intended to apply to Fall and Spring elections, because so to do would be re troactive, disqualifying voters by an ex post facto enactment.
