musicians and which hare played la all
the prominent ritiea of the United State
nnder the leadership ot such famous
leaders aa Liberati, Menolitti. Creator),
Cappa and Rivela, Include 13 of the
uioat celebrated aoloists, and are now
under the leadership of Slgnor D'Urbano
a scholar of the celebrated composer
Mascasnt. will appear at the Shiveley
opera house in Oregon City, Tuesday,
April 12th.
The repertoire of tha band is composed
of over 1500 selection of the greatest
composeia of the musical world.
It i hoped that the music loving people
of thi city will show their appreciation
of the fact that thi organisation ia the
beat and lamest band on the Pacific
Coast and baa been broosht together to
add a special attraction to the Iwie A
Clark Fair next year, located aa it now
is permanently in the metropolis of our
etate, our citiaens should ee to it that
they are given a good house at this, their
first appearance in Oregon City, thereby
encouraging the efforta of tbe public
spirited citiaens who have at great ex
pense secured the lorai ion of so cele
brated a ban in onr neighboring- city.

lican state convention of tbe Republican
partv of the state of Oregon ia hereby
called to meet in the tity of Portland,
Oregon, on Thursday, April 14, liXH, at
tbe hour of 10 o'clock a. m. ol said day,
for the purpose of nominating candidates
tor Hie various state ottices to be voted
for at the regular state election to be held
iu the state of Oreuon on Monday, the
6th dav of June, l'.K4. Damely :
One supreme judge, for a period of
six years.
Oue Jitiry and food commissioner, for a
period ol four years.
Four presidential electors (to be voted
for in November, 1904.
Circuit judges and district attorneys
for judicial districts of the state, for the
term of six years and four years respect
ively. Joint representative and senators for
the various districts.
There will also be chosen at said con
vention four delegates to the National Re
publican Convention.
The varioua counties of the state of
Oreicon shall be entitled to representa
tion in said convention as follows: One
delegate at large for each county, and
one delegate for every 150 votes, and one
additional delegate for each fraction
thereof over 100 votes, cast for R. S.
Bean for supreme judge at the state
election of 1902, the number for the
respective counties being as follows:

A convention of the Republican party
of the first congressional district of the
state of Oregon is hereby called to meet
in Salem, Ore., Wednesday, April 13, at
11 a. m., for the purpose of nominating
one representative for congress and to
transact such other business as may
properly come before the convention.
The convention will consist of 177 del
notut anrisirtinnprt imnnir the several
counties of the district as follows, to-wit :
Benton, 7; Clackamas, 18; lOos, w;
Curry, 3; Douglas, 14; Jackson, 12;
Josephine, 7; Klamath, 4; Lake, 4;
Lane, 19; Lincoln, 5; Linn, 14; Marion,
23; Polk, 9; Tillamook, 5; Washington,
13; Yamhill, 11; total, 177.
The same being one delegate-at-large
for each county, one for every 150 votes
cast for Judge Bean on the last general
election, and one for every fraction of
150 larger than 100.
That the work ol the convention may
be expedited as much is possible, the
committee suggestB that the chairmen
and secretaries of the several county con
ventions certify to the list of delegate
elected by their county conventions to
this congressional convention and mail
them at once to Curtis B. Winn, secre
tary congressional committee, Albany,
Delegates or others in attendance at
the convention may secure a rate ol one
and one-third fares for the round trip on
