Ikjc.nctiox Dismissed. --Circuit Judge McBride baa dissolved the injunction nit of Jacob Kalbfleisb ajrainst Clacks mas county. Tbis suit was brought to enjoin the establishment of a road, regularly ordered by the county court, through tbe farm of the plaint ff. In finding for the county, Judge McBride holds that the plaintiff, having brought tbe asme questions op in a writ of re view proceeding, which waa determined adversely to plaintiff's interest, baa no right to raise the same questions in a suit of equity. Unless the case is appealed to the supreme court, the decision of Judge McBride finally decides the con troversy over this road, which has been waged in the conrta of Clackamas county for several months. Judge McBride also denied a motion - for a new trial in the suit of A. E. Latourette against Henry Meldrum et al. This Buit was tried in the circuit court last summer, when a verdict waa found for tbe defendants. the next as to the Rev. Beavex Retchns. Rev. Jas. H. Beaven will be back again in his pulpit for this coming Sunday. Pie has been absent at Springfield, Oregon, holdiDg 1 special meetings with the Baptist church there for the past two weeltB. He will resume his aerie of sermons on tbe "Lord's Prayer'' Sunday morning, and in the evening give another illustrated eermon. These evening services on Sun day at the Baptist church form a very pleasant attraction to those who are in tbe habit of going to church as well as to those who go lartcely because of tbe novelty. Tbe pictures which are shown by the aid of electricity and a good lan tern are often the work of the best artists and are alwaya clear and distinct, far above tbe average, and we bespeak for him a good attendance as heretofore when the pastor resumes his work of en tertainment and instruction with ns again. Born. To the wife of Mr. Ed. B. Andrews of Falls View on tbe 11th. a daughter. To the wife of Mr. J. C. Elkins, wbo res dee on the hill, daughter, on the lOtb. When v.m are down town slop at Mowed A Jones' drug store, view the Kntwrprice money conleel jir and then come to the Enterprise other, pay your Mibsvnptioti ami make an estimate on the amount of money the j r containa. Some one la .going to get the money alien it is divided on the aftermxm of Washington's birthday, February 2'.', next. Why should not you share in the . division? Payment of subscription money on the Enterprise is the only condition that ia required ol persons desiring to partici pate in the contest. For every $1.50 that is paid on eutiscription to this paper the euheviibrr is entitled to one guess as lo the amount of money the jar contains. It matters not whether the payment covers back subscription or pays for the paper a year iu advance, you get a guess anyway. This arrangement makes the conlet-t lair foi all old snhscril-rs as well as tti.u-e wtio may now hecome Btibtcrib era to the papr. Another condition that makes the con test absolutely fair is the fact that the amount of money contained in the jr is unknown to anybody. The Fnterprise placed the bulk of the money in the re ceptacle and the balance in unknown denominations and a'nount, was depos ited therein by Mr. C. Schuebel, the at torney ol Oregon City, and neit her knows the amount in the jtr, which has been securely eeaied. On Moimay afternoon, February .22. HHH, the seal will be bioken and the money counted ty Mr. Schuetiel who will make the award of the money among the amvessful guessers. The manner of distribution will be as follows : 50 tr cent lo the person guessing nearest as to the amount of money in the jar; 25 per cent to the second best gueser and 5 per cent each to nve persons gueeeicg closest amount in the jar. All guesses must be forwarded or de posited at the Enterprise office previous to 12 o'clock noon, Monday, February 22, when the contest will close. More than one hundred guessea varying from t'o to $700 liave been received and each week we bb enlisting many new sub scribers. I'ersons desirinir to Kue should io'e no time in making their es timate, i our chance is just as good as your neighbors and some one is going to win. rt hy not you .' As we have announced, the Enterprise I had the misfortune a few weeks aito to have stolen Irom the othVe another jar of j money that was to have been given away on the same conditions a will thi I one. The second jar ia an exact conn- j lerpart of the stolen vessel and contains . approximately the same amount oil money as did the original jar. Suhscrib- I ers. who ventured truesses on the firBl jar j will have the privilege of changing tht-ir I guesses if they will call at trie otliie or notify us of the change desired. The E 'terpris speaks for itself. It is 1 the jnly Republican paper in the county. J It contains every week a complete report 1 of the news of interest of the et tire county and its country correspond! nee serviie is not duiilicated. It contains all of the news all of the time and gives the same accurately and reliably. With two campaigns next year the county election in June and the general election in November- the average citizen of Clackamas county should keep inlormed as to affairs in bis county. He can re ceive the best service in this reBpect by taking the Enterprise. We pride our selves on our market report and see that it ia corrected every week. The farmer depends on a reliable market report and by making corrections every week we are prepared to supply his wants in thi particular. King-Dills. Miss Nevada Alma Dills, of Liberal, and Mr. William P. King, of Portland, were united in tbe holy bonds of matri mony Monday evening at eight o'clock at the home of the groom's brother, Mr. Frank E. King, of Portland, Rev. U. D. Gray officiating. The bride ia the well known and highly esteemed daughter of Mr and Mrs. B. H. Faust, ot Liberal, and the groom is a promising younggen tleman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. 8. King of Portland. The wedding waa a very quiet affair, only a few invited guests being present. A wedding supper waa served. The bride looked vt ry charming in a becoming costume of brocaded white silk. Mr. and Mrs King are at home to their friends at 915 East bixtb street, North, Portland. ! i B IRTHDAY Presents tor :i 1,111111111.1. iiti Readers of the Enterprise ON Monday aftornoon, Washin-ton's ltirtlulay, Kobruary l!2, U0l, Tho Entcrpriso will distribute a snug sum of money among its Hubscribers. A big land slide occurred the last of last week about 12 miles up on the Clackamaa river, about one-halt mile above the old Capt. Nor ton place. A high blull reaching np Irom the edge ot the met became loos ened by the recent rains,' and slid into the river. The slide came down with such a rush that it carried rocks and trees across the stream, throwing them out on the other aide. The swift current of the river quickly worked through the obstruction, but the result was that the usually clear waters of the stream were muddy about a week at all points below the slide. The county road to Spring water runs near the slide, but farther bac k on the bill, and was not damaged. At Tim Pocltby Snow. James Mor row & Son, local poultry fanciers, last week shipped several coops of blooded iiwls to the Portland poultry show, where they were placed on exhibition. The stock sent were barred Plymouth Rocks. Dr. Strickland and other local poultry raisers would have exhibited, but made a mistake in the date upon which the entries closed. tW Are yoo a subscriber to the En terprise? If not, why not? Pay $150 and get the best paper in the county for at year and at the same time venture guess as to tbe contents of the prize money jar. &Yon cannot possibly lose cuv- thing, and at the same time yon have a chance to get more than your money back.
