THE OLD RELIABLE m -;t A f .v' i .4 f -ft Abscfutcl Pur THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE IN THEIR TENTH ANNUAL SESSION Willamette .Valley Chautauqua Association. WILL CONVENE TUESDAY A Thirieen Days' Program of Merit and Attrac tiveness not Excelled in AmericaUnited States Senator Dolliver, Congressman; Champ Clark, Robert J. Burdette and Many Other Lecturers. The opening session of the tenth annual assembly of the Willamette Valley Chautauqua Association will be held next Tuesday morning, July 14. A -thirteen, days' program of exceptional merit and attractiveness has been prepared for the aseembly this year and the indications are that the attendance will far exceed that of any previous year. When lecturers and public men of the National standing of Senator Dolliver, Representative Champ Clark, Robert J. Burdette, not to -speak ol the many others hardly less important, are advertised as among the lecturers for the session, the Cbautauqia ceases to be local, and at once becomes a matter of stale pride and interest. At the present time, when the success of the Lewis and Clark Exposition is the great question among all loyal Oregonians, the coming of Senator Dolliver and Representative Champ Clark, two men of large and increasing influence in Na tional councils, ought to be made much of, and a royal welcome should be given them, and no doubt will be. This year two special trains on the Ssuthern Pacific, leaving East Washington street, Portland, will provide ample accommodation to the patrons of the assembly. The fare will be 25 cents for the round trip, or a coupon ticket may be purchased for 55 cents, entitling the person to a round trip over any ol the various City St Suburban lines in Portland, to and from the park, including admission to the as sembly for the day.
