Ore gou City I'e- pie Order by Sample ana Gi t Inferior Quality. Dr. M. t Strickland, of this city, has instituted in the Oregon City justice court a suit against the Columbia Tailor ing Company of Chicago, to recover damages in the sum of $10. Tbe com plainant alleges that he baa been dam aged to that extent by misrepresentation on the part of an agent for tbe defendant company in selling him a suit. This proceeding is the sequel to the recent operations in this city of a tran sient agent for the defendant tailoring company. With a splendid lot of samples and a smooth and convincing way, the salesman who gave the name of t ilr pat rick, was successful in inducing many prominent citiaens to place with him an order for suits. Because of the extreme ly low prices he otfored, the wily agftit succeeded in getting many of his custom ers to make a cash deposit equal in amount to the selling value of the suit. This week the suits began to arrive by express. Instead of being according to sample, the suits are of inferior quality and are misfits besides The Wells Far go Express Company bare has been gar nisheed in the pending action and a number of rejected suits in the local office have been sieied bv legal process. The case will be heard soon. REAL ESTATE TRANSFERS. Famished Erery Week by the Clacku mas Abstract & Trust Company.
