Attorney W. H. Powell, of St. Helens, one of Hon. Harrison Allen's deputy district attorneys, was trying a civil suit in the district court on Monday last. Mr. Powell, it will be remembered, was prin cipal of the Eastbam school in this city several j ears ago, Mr. E. T. Grider, who drove tbe mal wagon between Oregon City and Wilson ville for the past four years but whose term expired this laat spring, was in the city Monday for tbe first time in several months. Mr. Grider is now clerking in tbePetet Bros. 's store at Wilsonville. The Misses Randall snd Mr. George Randall, Jr. who have been spending their holiday vacation with their parenta at Central point, left for Salem Monday to resunle their work at Willamette uni versity. These young-people are three of the leading spirits of the school and they enjoy a large circle of friends both at school snd throughout the county.
