Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Harding were
moat agreeably aurprised at their home
in this city last Monday evening, the
occasion being; the I'oth anniversary of

tides of Bilver. One of the features of

Justice Stipp, on hearing the charge,

paid. The guns, which they left for
their appearance with the sheriff, were

Congregational church of this city, and
Chester Ctiiry and other delegates re

the concert given in this city Tuesday
evening by MihS Conyers, assisted by
the Derthick club. It was one of the
most enjoyable affairs ever attended by
Oregon City people and was greatly ap
preciated. Mr. Pom Zan, of Portland,
contributed to the success of the con
cert and won a favorite place in the
hearts of Oregon City people. To no
greater extent, however, was Mr. Zan's
work appreciated than was that of
the home talent. Miss Veda Williams,
a pupil of Miss Marie S. Soule, increased
her popularity as a pianist, and was
compelled to respond to an encore, as
was also the case with the Misses
Draper. Miss Conyers was most warmly
greeted and gave two pleasing numbers.
Miss Grace Marshall made her first ap
pearance and sang very sweetly. Mrs.
Ganong sang in her usual charming
manner and richly deserved the hearty
applause she received. The Shakes
pearean reading by Mrs. Miller was one
of the principal features ot the enter
tainment tad her effort was greatly en
joyed. The Maccabee quartette did ex
cellent work on this occasion, as it does
whenever It appears. Mrs. Williams
was always a favorite in this city, and on
the occasion of Tuesday evening she
won even greater favor with the people
here. Miss Lee, of Portland, sang very
sweetly, her work being well received.
Mrs. E. E. Williams, Mrs. L. L. Porter
and Miss Echo Sampson acted as acorn
panists and Messrs. David Holt, Forbes
rratt and Harry Draper were ushers.
When the musical program had been
concluded it was announced that danc
ing would be indulged in and a great
number of the younger persons re
mained to enjoy this part of the pro
gram. The large hall was completely
filled, and the affair a success in every
way.
