trouble was caused by a petition which

business men and was presented by the

This is iu violation of the city ordinadce,
granting a franchise to the company,
which provides that no express mailer

Fourteenth streets. Tiffany was arrested
by Chief Burns aud was taken before
Recorder Curry. Ha 'plead not utility
snd his trial was set for July 3 at 1 P. M.

The closing exercises of St. John's
Parochial and High School were held
last night in Shively'a opera bouse. The
address to the claws was delivered by
Archbishop Christie.
Christisn Science services are held in
Red Men's hall every Sunday morning
at 11 1 'clock. Subject for Sunday, June
.9, "Christian Science." Sunday School
at 12 o clock. Wednesday evening
meeting at 8 o'clock. To theae services
all are welcome.
The hot days are here and will last
until October. It follows that you must

The United Textile Workers Union of
this city, gave a social in Kedmen's Hall
Tuesday evening. A delightful enter
tainment was '. followed by dancing,
which was indulged in until a late hour.
Refreshments were served. The nnion
is having a healthv growth and initiated
15 new members at its last meeting.
Residents of the city and merchants
are requested by the Fourth of July
committee to decorate their houses and
places of business on the Fourth It

city and a lew yards of bunting may be
obtained at the stotes. Be patriotic and
