Mrs. Minnie Fanton is stayingat home
during her mother's illness.
Fred Stevens has quit going fishing,

Mrs. J. J. Mailed was visiting her
niece, Mrs. Pearson, Monday.
Misses Mary Moll in and Yeva Jones
went to Canny one day last week.
Otto Striker and George llelvey were
breaking a new horse to work Sunday.
Clarence Mallett, of Maple Lane, was
visiting friends here one day lal week.
Mr?, (toucher's sister and brother-in-
law, of Ohio, are visiting relatives here. ,
A. L. and W. If. Jones just finished
planting four acres of potatoes for the
latter.
There will be a dance at the old Oeorge
Ranch house Saturday night. Every
body come and have good time.
There was a dance at Mr. Pendleton's
last Tuesday night and all who attended
report having had a jolly good t me.
Dancing was indulged in until 3 o'clock
when all departed for their respective
homes. Coffee and cake were served at
midnight. Those present were: Misses
Agnes Wallace, Betha Hermn, Verna
Smith. Yeva Jones, Susie, Keta and
Baiw Bowman. Mrs. Bowman and Mrs.
Mcltonald, Messrs. B iMcDonald. J.

the schoolhouse is too small now and
there are several new members to come

Mr. Alton has a hard time to get a
crowd to talk to. as he always complains
of having no hearers only as they turn
out to pay their respects at funerals. A
Garfield people are always good to go to
hear preaching there is something wrong
somewhere as li P. Rich, of Kelso, al
ways has large and very attentivecrowds
and good collections. Perhaps he tries
more to emulate the great Preacher, Je
sus of Nazareth, and does not club those
he was sent to call. That is why he gets
the crowd and coin .
Our roads are getting good work done
on them where they most need it, by the
