Raucb, to recover $11, 753.22, balance of principal and interest on a note for $12,700. In April, ISW, a ayndicate of 12 men, T. L. Charman, E. E. Cbarman, Charles O. Albright, Julius Loxus, U. H. John son, J. P. Shaw, J. A. Cox and Charles Logus, porchssed the 230-acre farm of Capt. Appeison, and made T. L. Char man trustee of the pro pert v. It was platted as Sooth Oregon City, and dur ing the boom over $10,000 worth of lots were sold. Much of the property brought large sums. John Vinney paid $4000 for seven acres, and many other lots were sold for $250 a piece, or at the rate of $1500 an acre. The sndicate paid $3000 down and gave a note of $12,700 for the balanc e of the pun-have price, which was $20,700. Apperson was aaked to release from the mortgage the lots that bad been told in order that the purchasers might have a clear title, but but the plaintiff would not consent to this, as he wished to have the property intact in case he was forced to foreclose. This request on the part of the trustee precipitated the suit, wbicb may result in the reorganixation of the syndicate. This matter is one in wbicb the citi xens ot Oregon City are vitally interest ed. The land is easily worth $30,000,. and all of the improved property is val ued at $200 an acre. The taxes on the land last year were $344. In 1804 the trustee signed an agreement to pay an additional interest of 3 per cent, a y ar in consideration of the renewal of the note, and since then the 10 per cent, in terest has made the yearly interest close to $1000. The scheme of the syndicate when the purchase was made was to build a motor line from Oregon City through Mount Pleasant, and if the property had not de preciated iu value this would have been done. It is hoped that the mater will be amicably adjusted. II. E. Cross is Captain Apperson's attorney, and the defendants ss yet have not made public their plan of defense. Stricken Wi h Paralysis. Henderson Grimett, of this place, was stricken with partial paralysis and com pletely lost the use of one arm and side.
