An ordinance kutl.orising the city to aell lo the Portland General Electric Company property on Main street for merly accupiod by tbe old cement mills, for 1241.84, pasted. ' ' Petition of reiidents of Green Point aaking for a street Unsp wsa referred to the finance committee. Petition from property owners of Green Point aaking that atreeta adjacent lo the river be opened waa referred to the com rnlttee on streeta and public property. Tbe property ownera claim that Henry Miley has fenced in the streets, but Mi ley says that the street In queetion no longer exiet as the river baa waa Led them away. The light ordinance faded to pans This waa an ordinance where the Mayor and Recorder were authorised and di rected lo enter Into an agreement on behalf of Oregon City with tbe Portland General Electric Company providing for the lighting of Oregon City for a term of aix years from July 1, 1901. Through tha agreement arc lights were to be furnished for 7 and incandescent lights fl 25 per month. Councilmen Koerner Voted sgalnst the ordinance but evening, bat the ordinance will be reconsidered at a meeting next Wednesday, when all tbe members will be present.
