To the Enterprise: Salem, Jan. 15 Knowing that the people of Clackamas county will be inter ested in the proceedings or the legisla ture, I take the liberty of sending you a few items. This is my first experience at the legislature, and already, on the second day ol the Bessioo, I feel well paid for coining here, and it will be time well spent for any one w ho cares to know how our laws are made and to learn something about parliamentary usage to come and spend a few days during the session of the legislature. Both the senate and house are com posed of fine looking, representative men, and Clackamas county can well feel proud of her delegation, both for ap pearance and active participation in the business of both bouses. Senators Porter and Brownell seem al ready to have taken a leading position In the senate, while Dresser is conspicuous in the bouse, and has already given an illustration of the influence he will exert in the house, by bis action as a member of a committee of one from each repre sentative district, appointed for the pur pose of deciding in regard to the patron Owing to my inability to be present in both bouses at once.
