Hayes, orator of the day, who was received with great enthu aiasm and who delivered an oration which was appreciated by the people more than any speech ever delivered at Sandy on such an occasion. Mr. Hayes spoke in part; "Of the great deal we owe to our fore father who made it possible for us to lire 'Death the Stars and Stripes, and enjoy the freedom and liberty for which they fought.
