nothing in the pav?r from this part of
the countiy for quite a while, but this ia
no sign that we are not able to kick,
This precinct is quite small and quite
quiet, so there is not much news to write.
Boring's is a republican neighboihood
and also quite prosperous. Our farmers
raise more bushels of grain to the acre
than our populist neighbors. Our
populibt neighbors do not know how to
account for this but we can easily ex
plain it. We say it in because we do not
sit around the corner grocery or ujon a
fence and berate the administration or
coin silver as they do.
The farmers of Damascus held a meet
irg the 18th inst. to see about getting a
creamery put up theie. Cut Damascus
could not furnish enough cows to justify

past week was the marriage of Gilbert
Ward to Mrs. Elizabeth Lee. They were
married last Saturday evening in the
I 0 0 F hall, Kev A J Montgomery
officiating. At 9:30 the Odd Fellows
snd Kebekahs were lined up on one side
of the hall and the Artisan upon theo
poeite side and the high contracting
parties attended by Mr. and Mr James
McFarland entered (he hall to the strains
ol a beaut iiful wedding march. They
took their placet at the end of the hall
juxt in front of the prodding officers
stand. Kev. Montgomery then by the
beautiful ceremony of hi church pro
nounced them husband and wife. After
congratulation a splendid repast was
served in the rooms under the hull after
which dancing was indulged in until
midnight. The presents were numerous
and useful.
Mrs John Gulxnard fell and fractured
her arm last Saturday the fracture was
reduced by a Portland physician,
Ada Fox leaves tomorrow for an ex
tended visit to Iloise Cily, Idaho,
