fe'los. The game was somewhat one
dej by reason of the Portland team

famous Torpedo nine and victory went
t j them on a score of 10 to 3. The Jolly
Fellows played the tame under protest,
but rather than disappoint the large
crowd entered against the handicap and
ior four innings succeeded in holding
Portland even. The fifth inning proved
a Wa'erloo however and the Portlands
Lad things their own way alter that.

hour on his talk cn "Get There and Slay
TliOie." Gov. Geer opened the lecture
program and told the vast audience who
wete gathered in the auditorium that
the Oregon boys had done just right in
jmking to disband in Frisco, as many of
them would need every dollar they could
gettOBtart life over agnn. President
Miiler then introduced Kev. Sam Jones,
with a few neatly turned words. When
the famous Georgian came upon (lie
platform he received an ovation from the
audience and as the band played Dixie a
droll smile crossed the face of the great
preacher and he seemed to appreciate
the delicate musical compliment paid
liim.

marks. On the athletic Geld the Oregon City
V. M. C. A. team defeated the Portland
team in a closely contested game of
ticket ball.
The evening was devoted to a grand
concert w hich was enjoyed by an audi
ence that thoroughly enjoyed the splen
did program offered.
The principal attractions yesterday
were the lectures by Prof. J. U. Horner
and J. DeWitt Miller in the intellectual
field and the baseball game between
Portland anil Chemawa.
