MiLwarxti, Jan. 10 Mr. James G.
Wilson died at his home last Saturday
evening at the age of 50 years. His
brother, Rrger Wilson, was among those
at his bedside. He was an honored
citizen, a loving and kind hearted father
He bad lived here with his family eight
year, tie leavea a widow, an ageu
mother one brother, two daughter, four
sons and a boat of friends. The deceased
waa buried today at Lone Fir cemetary.
Rev. Dr. Boyd, of Portland, conducted
the funeral service.
Mrs. David Keller fell s few daya ago
and fractured two rib. Dr. Sommers,
of Oregon City is attending her.
There were three medals captured at
the Omaha exposition by the citizens
of Milwaukle, aa follows: P. J. Henne
man and sons, gold medal, for evaporated
oniona and desiccated potatoes, Mr. R
Scott, silver medal on samples of Cots-
wall wool from his fine sheep and Mr. F
Brotje, silver medal for nine vari'.ies of
grapes preserved in liquid. These were
the only medals secured in the county
Miss Annie Wilson returned home
Monday evening from Chicago owing to
the illness oi her farther. She was called
home unexpectedly.

been quite sick for a week with colds
and fever.

The New Era Literal y Society gave an
entertainment including a Basket social,
followed by a ball at Anthonys Hall, on
Saturday Eve., which was a success
both socialy and financialy, the net pro
ceeds being $24.50, which will be applied
toward tbe purchase of an Organ to be
placed in the New Era public school,
