Andrew McKennett after having rested from his labors for a few months is once more hammering away at the Humps that are a thing of beauty and a j ,y to him, as they give way to the fierce fl imps that envelop them. Andrew is a scorcher. The Lntherans are fipering their church on the inside, which no doubt will make it appear more pleasing to the eve w hen completed. Most of our farmers are losing their kliwp atound here. Dogs kill some and something else kills the rest, because Ihey disappear and are never seen again. Its netting rather serious business. YT-sterday the German Congregational church celebrated Children's Day in Groceriiiller's orchard. Services bean at 10 A. M. after which an excellent diiu.er was served. KvoicifCS at S o'clock slurp. Sundiij School Workers Meet. The eight annual convention of Clack aiuas county, Sunday school association met at the Congregational church of Clackamas June 9th at 8 P. M. Pres. II S. Strange presiding. The evening ses sion was opened with an inspiring song service followed by praver. Kev. Haw ley gave the address of welcome in which he especially dwelt on the impor tance of the teachers work. Mr. S. F. Scripture, of Oregon City respouded with appropriate remarks. Kev. C. 0. Poling President ol Oregon StateS. S. Association gave an earnest and instructive address concerning the duties and obligations of officers and teachers and indicated the intimate rela tions which should exist between the church and Sunday school, showing that the Sunday School is not a collateral force but an auxiliary in the church work. The session Friday consisted of song service, reiwts of officers, district super intendents, and schools. The exercises throughout reflected great credit not only upon the pupils but upon Prof. J. W. Gray and his corps of efficient teachers- This has really been a most suc cessful vear for Parkplace school. The class graduating was Carl L. Butt, Kate E. Smith, Daisy, E. Itivers, Pearl Margaret Himler, Frederick G. Thayer, Florence E. Patty, Maude E. Brown, Mary Francis Huerth and Clark Ilayues Williams.
