business men have agreed to pay amall
weekly subscription to aid ill keeping
the band up and In return the band will

nading the successful candidates.
After Company F departed to the
front, stei were immediately taken by
Lieutenant Metxner for Ibo recruiting of
the company here. The work of re
organixalion was somew hat slow, owing
to the strict lines followed in accepting
recruits, but about sixty men have now
signed the company roll book and are
anxiously awaiting auch Instructions as
will eriiiit of permanent organisation.
For aome dsys the boys have gathered
every evening at the armory and old
members have faithfully drilled the men
seeking enlistment. The recruits show
a determination to master the drill and
manuel of arms that aesures Oregon City
she will be as proud of the new company
as of the old one.

the big majority returned in Multnomah
county removed tbe element of doubt

governor; Dunbar is 5072 ahead of Kin
caid, and Ackerman IsSWO ahead of
Lyman . Geer's majority will be 10,000,
nd probably more. All the candidates
on the Republican state ticket have large
majorities.
