Martin, the Populist ex-deputy County Clerk, who was indicted by the grand jury on three separate indictments for forging County Warrants was again continued for trial. District Attorney Cleeton had the case set down for trial at the November term of Court, but ow ing to the absence ol two Important wit nesses, the cane waa continued to the April term of Court. Mr. Cleeton had the case set for trial, but the attorney (or a continuance based upon an affida vit of Martiu's physician in effect, that Martin wa sick and it would not be safe for him to leave hi bed. The cate was continued until the November term of Court when It will be tried. There is no question of Martin's guilt and it is only a mutter of time when he will be pun ished (or the crime committed. The case of Walter Weyland, another Populist, indicted for larceny from a store was called. Weyland did not appear and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. He was arrested and asked permission to go out in the country and get some clothes. He never came back. He has skipped the country.
