Frank Kellen's barrel show failed to come oil" as advertised laHt Sunday after noon. About 4 :30 o'clock Kellen gut into the cruft at the edge of the water, in front of Canemah, and hud it towed out into tho stream. The barrel would't "hold water" and Kellen soon called to his helpers to get him out, but buiore this could he done the passenger was in very close quurters and the w ater nearly up to bis chin. It was then discovered that the water In the rivor was too low to iwrmit tho barrel going over tho falls anyway, a fact that must have been known beforo hand. Very few people assembled to noe the fake show from out of the city, and most of those who did come were brought by the Eaat Side Uuilway company. The Southern Pacif ic company ran two trains, one of which carried five and the other 13 passengers. The burrol was abandoned where it filled and Is now lodged against the Canemah breakwater a few hundred feet from the shore and this will probably end these fake shows, for the attendance was ao small tbut the tians- portittlon companies will be loth to back any oilier dare-devil fool who is willing by creating a senautlon to enable the companies to make a blghuul on pasHiin ger tralllc.
