Rkm.and, July ft The nnitod effort of
Rutland and neighboring commnnitiea to
celebrate our nation'a birthday at Union
Park on July 3d waa an Immense success
nd gives one more illustration of tha old
maxim, "In union there ia atrengtb." A
great crowd of happy people witnessed
the Tariotia amusements provided by the
committee to whom great credit ia due for
for the auccrea of the occasion. It ia fin
place for public gathering and we hop
many more may be held there. The band,
which la a home institution, did nobly and
contributed In no small way to the enjoy
ment or the nay. The liberty car with it
precious load ol happy youth, embleniellcal
of our glorious union, received an ovation
on It appearance at the apeakera' atand.
The oration by Hon. Geo. C. Brownell bore
the mark of a master mind. Ilia subject
w aa "Our Liberty," and he showed at what
tremendous cost it had been obtained and
how we should p'iie it. In closing hia
remarks he told how, in hia estimation, the
constitution could be amended so as to still
better our condition and I think that all
present, regardless of political belief, could
agree with him, and if at aome future time
he should come before the people to advo
cate such a cause as he outlined the people
should once more unite and send blm
where his eloquence will avail more than at
Fourth of July celebration, namely, a
eat In the V. S. senate.

Oregon City, Or., June 10, 1897.
Our fellow townsman C. O. Huntley,
the Druggist, did not expect so soon to
get favorable reports from applicants who
procured from him free samples of Dr.
Hobbs Sparagus Kidney Pills.
The test made so far by the users of
the free samples, show that these remark
able pills produce favorable results with
a degree of quickness heretofore unknown
in the treatment of Kidney, Bladder and
Blood diseases, and allied ailments.
Those who have used them have been
encouraged to persevere with the treat
ment, knowing that they could not ex
pect the five days treatment contained in
the sample box, notwithstanding the re
markable results obtained so far, would
effect a complete cure. Kidney disease
is of Imperceptible and insidious growth ;
it takes months lo develop even tl e
Symplons. Reaon experience suggest I
that it takes more than a few days to cure.
Fortunately, Dr. Ilobbs Sparagus Kid
ney Pills begin the good work of cure
with the first dose. The results are evi
dent from the beginning. The delightful
effects of these Pills induce the patient
tocontiue their use until cured. They
are easy to take, easy to buy, easy to get,
and bountiful in good results.
