About thirty of the delegate to the I'aclllo Coast Unitarian conference held In 1'ortlsnd last week came up on the steamer Hamona Mon day and spent the dsy In Oregon City. The visitors were from Cambridge. Muss., Seattle and Spokane, Wanh., Sun Francisco. Calif , and other points. They wore accompanied by Rev. Karl Wilbur, as director of their movements, Mr. II. Coleman, principal of the Canby school, was In Oregon City Saturday, conferring with the other members of the committee regarding the program for tlie teachers association which meets In Canby the last -Saturday in May. I'rof. Coleman, with Miss Bertha Sumner, will close the spring term of school for district No. 80, nexl Friday, and so satisfactory has been their work that they have already been engnu-ed to teach tho fall term. The Canby school la one of tho most pros perous and successful in the county. The bi cycle ordinance passed by the city coun cil at the regular meeting last Wednesday evening makes it a misdemeanor, pun ishable by a fine of not less than f3 or moro lhan $25, for any person to ride a bicycle upon or along any of the side walks in Oregon City, or to ride along any street or alloy at a greater speed than eight miles an hour between 0 a. m. and 6 p m. or eix miles an hour bctwocn tl p.m. and (la. m. The ilariu house on Main and Fourteenth streta has len leased for a term of years and will be fitted up for tlie reception of patints about July 1. This house I one of the largest two- story residences In tlie city, nicely located and will make a convenient and commodious hospital. The incorporator will be Drs. Powell, Wells, Norrls and Strickland, and dmitgisls, George A. Harding aad K. K. Charman. The amount of capital stock ha not yet been determined. To ' QJtt Today.
