We are pleased to note his recovery. Dr. H. A. Den man is having a healthy increase in his practice and is meeting with good success. He is more alive than his name might suggest. Dr. M. H. Wolgxtnott, a lesdin farmer and fruit-gtower in Canbv was in Ore gon City, Thursday. The fruit prospects he states were never better. Mrs. Capt. L. (J. Bailey, Mra. 3. R. Seed, Mrs. Grace Cain and Miss Grace Marshall, of Portland, were guests of Mrs. Thoa. F. Ryan last Saturday. John Bolander, who has been em ployed in the Portland restaurant during the winter, will leave shortly for East ern OregOri to seek other employment. Rev M. L. Rugg occupied the pulpit of the First Baptist church in Portland last Sunday and Rev. C. A. Wooddy preached iu the Baptist church in this city. Charles Galloway, who is attending the State university at Eugene, was in the city this week spending the spring vacation with bis parents, Judge and Mrs. Galloway. Mies Nannie Paddock, of Clackamas, stenographer at the state insane asylum, resumed her duties in that institution last Friday, after an absence of seven weeks caused by a severe spell of sick ness. " Mrs. W. M. Welch and two children returned to their old home in Silverton on Friday of last week, having spent the winter here witb Dr. J. W. Welch to avail themselves of our excellent school facilities. G. B. Anderson, a newspser man from the East, who has been traveling over the Coast writing up towns, has been in Oregon City this week writing up the city, the business men and the county officials. Dr. and Mrs. J. M. Wells, who re-! centlv have become residents of the city are rooming at the Electric hotel for the present, they planning to select a resi dence later on when they become ac quainted with the city. Miss Louise Rice, of this city, has been employed to teach the spring term of school in district No. 51, Beaver Creek, and began tier duties there a week Hgo Monday. Miss Rice is one of our most successful teachers. John Johnson, of Molalla, was in Oregon City Tuesday buying groceries and other needed supplies for his home. He has recently bought a farm iu the Sawtell settlement, has moved on it and is making numerous improvements. W. L. Fred Hedges who has been attending the State medical college in Portland during the winter has returned to Ore gon City and will continue his studies in the office of Drs. Carll & Sominer. during the summer vacation in the med ical college. Rev A J. Montgomery was in Os wego Tuenday conducting a funeral and pays the people of thot ent rprising town the comoliment of hivin o-e of the neatest and best-kept cemetaiies in the state and in marked contrast with the dilapidated condition of our cemetery. Master Willie Kuconich has gone out to Beaver Creek to make an extended visit with his grandmother, Mrs. Bolan der. Willie had quite a severe spell of la grippe during t tie winter and has not rallied as fast as his parents thought he should and they sent him out to see what country air would do for him. A. Tilzer, who served as pha-macist in Huntley and Harding's drug stores for a couple of years, graduated with high honors from the medical department of the State university Monday evening, ranking fourth out of a class of 80.
