Arrangements have leep made lor cheap
railroad fares to and from the c'ty during j
the entire exposition. Tiiere are also
being arranged special excursions at
much cheaper rates to run into the city
at the times of the greatest Secia! at
tractions. The management has pro
vided an attraction for every day of the
fair. Some of these are extremely novel
and highly entertaining. There will be
a great merchant's carnival; also a
flower carnival ot children ; there will
be a minstrel show in which the per
formers will all be well Known Portland
ladies ; there will be a complete Chinese
theatre; there will be special nights
devoted to the Odd Fellows, the Elks,
the Woodmen, the Redmen, the Work
men, and the foresters. On these occa
sions excursions will be run from all
points in the Northwest, bringing the j
members of these orders and their
friends for a grand celebration in Port
land. There will be a grand choial
night, at which there will be chorus and
A Home-like Hotel.
Farmers and the traveling public will
find a comfortable home-like place to
stop at when in Oregon City at the
Oriental hotel. Table supplied with an
abundance of the best the market af
fords. Booms and beds are clean and
comfortable.

Clarence Porter is so well-known in

amid great ceiemony and music and
flowers. The exhibits will be more
numerous and finer than ever before.
The manufacturerers of the Northwest
will make special displays, and will have
working exhibits, showing the various
processes of the manufacturer of goods.
The greatest display of the natural re
sources and products of the Pacific North
west ever brought togettier has been
collected for this exposition. Twice as
lunch space as baa ever been devoted
to this feature is now occupied by this
Biagoificent collection. Even the pro
ducers of the Pacific Northwest will
themselves be astonished at this display,
while the thousands of visitors from
abroad will simply be overwhelmed by
it. The attendance from outside the
city promises to be the largest in the
iiistory ot expositions in Portland.
