Gibson spoke on "Should Algebra be Taught in Country Schools?" The object of all education is mental cultuie and practical work. The mathe matical sciences have, in all ages, been justly esteemed aa leading to these ends. The study ol algebra quickens the reason ing faculties and brightens the mind. In small schools it might not be a wise idea grove. Superintendent H. S. Gibson delivered an interesting address after the exercises which consisted of songs, recitations, dialogues and declamations. "The Soldiers Memorial" was sung by six young ladies. As the program was finished Mr. Gib son called on Mr. Starkweather for a Fire.
