West, administrator of the estate of Whalen C. Urofl, deceased, tiled his final report and account, and was discharged from further responsi bility in the matte.', and his bondsmen exonerated. Obituary of fcllon I'olUren. Died, At his residence three miles east of Woodburn on May 2(1, '1W, of Bright disease, F.lton Coldren, son of O. L. and Ann Coldren. F.lton Coldren was born in I.eagrange county, Indiana May 17, ISiW, in IStii) lie emigrated with bis parents to Bourbon county Kan. In the spring of 1879 he located with his parents near Silverton, Marion county; lived there for three years, removed to Elliott Prairie, Clack amas county and was there married to Jane J. Hinkle, Jan. 23, 1884, resided at said place up to last fall when he moved to Marion county and there resided up to the time of his death. Deceased leaves a wife and five children, father and mother, two brothers and one sister to mourn the loss of a dear relative. lie was a loving husband, kind father and true friend respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church at Hubbard, Rev. Dick ollicinting, after which the remains were taken in charge by Odd Fellows lodge No. 70, of which he was a member in good standing, and proceeded to Hubbard cemetery where the impressive ceremony of that order was rendered and the remains were laid in their lust resting place. The train had to wait several minute on reach ing Oregon City for the arrival of the Koaeburg local from Portland. The crowd annembled at the depot were at tracted by a heated discussion in the rear panitenger car, and the active par ticipam proved to lie Mr. Clarke and a liopiilist lady lecturer, who occupied the adjoining sent. The debate seemed to grow warmer while the train wa at a standstill, and the lintenera mounted the tei and platform to get in closer hear ing, and in the heat of vehement argu ment the Isdy would swing the States man, she held in hand over the bead ol her opponent. As the district is overwhelmingly democratic, a nomina tion is equal to an election.
