Social Club Entertain Henuhllcun to Have a Rally. Mn.wAiKKE, April 21. The Milwau kee Social Club gave a social gathering at the tow n ball last Thursday evening Between forty and fifty couple responded to the club's kind invitation to come and supwith them. Sport of various kinds was indulged in some dancing, others playing whist and other quiet games. At 12 o'clock an oyster supper, accompa nied with coffee and cake, was served It was greatly enjoyed by all present Everybody went home expressing them selves as having had a pleasant time The members of the club declare their intention of giving another entertainir.ent in the not distant future. Mr. F. II. Sechler, who four weeks ago was suddenly called east to the bedside of his father, has returned. On arriving at Richmond, Virginia, he found his fa' ther very low and not expected to live. He lingered two weeks after the son's ar riyal. After the funeral Mr. Sechler went to Philadelphia, where he visited his brother for several days. From there he went to Buffalo, Cleveland. Cincin nati, Chicago and other large cities of the East and Middle West. He says that business is rather quiet at Richmond, but that the northern cities are in a flour ishing condition, with plenty of business and money easy. Mrs. La Grand and daughter arrived home today from Germany where they have been for about two years. The Milwaukee republican club will be addressed Saturday evening, April 25, by Prof. Strange.
