Mr. Barlow, Sr., to show his agility and suppleness, danced the "bear dance," and all voted him the the "best man there," notwith-taailirjg his age. As good-night was said, each and everyone declared the evening most enjoyable one, which would long be remembered, and wished that they might be able to be with the host and hostess on their 45th anniversary. Democratic Phimasy. Last Satur day afternoon, the democratic primary was called to order by the chairman and soon proceeded to vote for three dele gates to the county convention, which convenes in Oregon City, April 4th. Messrs. W. W. Irwin, J. Renck, Jr., and J. Yoast were the delegates chosen. Some lively speeches were made, among the notable was Mr. John Abbott, who seemed to have a grievance against the county court and in consequence, was making a good campaign speech for Mr. Sam Marks, who is a nominee for county commissioner on the populist ticket. They Paraded ths Stbeets. The Woodburn Amateur Dramatic Co. gave a performance at Aurora, Saturday eve--. ning. The undertaking was difficult one, as they produced the "Old Home stead." Our town people were startled by the sound of a band that afternoon and open investigating, discovered it to be one marching the streets to advertise the play. Quite a number attended from here and were pleased with their endeavors. PERSONALS. Harry Reea was in town Saturday. Mrs. W. Koehler spent Saturday and Sunday in Portland. Mr. Andy Kocher was a passenger to Oregon City, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Miller of Aurora were in town Tuesday. Dr. W. W. Giesy ot Aurora, was seen on our streets on Monday. Nate Cole of Cole's Mills was trans acting business in town Friday. Mrs. O. W. Quint has been on the Bick list, but is now much improved. Mrs. A. Montanan of Needy, waa transacting business in town Tuesday. Mr. Henry F. Pusey came up from Oregon City, Thursday to attend the partv. Mr. and Mrs. YV. P. Hawley and son, of Oregon City, were visiting in Barlow, last week. Mr. and Mrs. YV. J. Cuddy of Portland, spent sevvral days last week, visiting Mrs. Cuddy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Na son, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Miller, Ralph Mil ler and Mrs. C. E. Bray were guests at i the Barlow residence several davs of last K.
