Irvin the booby prize a hook entitled 'Tracheal methods to insure success." Mr. Henry Hedges had the same number of progression as Mrs. Irvin and to determine who should carry ofT the booby prize a game of enchre between the two was played in which Mr. Irvin lost, thus giving her the prize. Before the game, however Mr. Hedges displayed his g'alantry(?) by asking that the prize be awarded the lady without further delay: Ckeamkby Will Rioi-ex. Negoti ations are being made with butter and cheese makers to start the creamery, and in all probability somearrangements will be consummate 1 and the creamery started up the first of the coming month or soon thereafter. If this arrangement is perfected the farmers will receive a stipulated price for their milk either at their doors or .'eliverefl at the creamery, thus making for them a price without waiting for returns from products, which no doubt will be more satisfactory to the farmers. Popilists Meet. Populist primaries met here las'. Saturday and proceeded to elect four At legates to the county con vention. The following named were elected: Messrs. O. W. Quint, W. S. Tull, E. A. B. Howard and P. II. Mul loy. The populists are also preparing for a hard tight at the coming election. Of course some party must win, the question is, which will it be? Dkmocbatic Cli'b Mkets. The demo cratic club which has now a member ship of about twenty-eight, met last Saturday evening for a regular business meeting. Some very creditable talks were made by the local democrats, they are vigorously preparing fur the coming election. PERSONALS. Don't forget the republican primary Saturday at 2 o'clock. Mr. Henry Meldrum of Oregon City, was in town Saturday. Ed G. Miller was visiting relatives and friends in Aurora Sunday. Mr. John Osterholz of Macksburg, was seen on our streets Friday. Mr. A..S. Dresser, an attorney of Ore gon City, was in town Friday. Quite a number of our young people attended church in Canby Sunday. Atorney E. F. Driggs spent a couple of days of last week in town on business. Mr. and Mrs. Owen of Elliotts Prairie were transacting business in town Sat urday. Miss M. S. Barlow of Portland, spent Saturday and Sunday in town visiting relatives, L. D. Voder ot Needy, accompanied by his wife and daughters, was in town Saturday. Mr. H. F. Pusey of Oregon City, was out Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Casa U. Barlow. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pusey and lit tle Mabel returned home Monday after a six weeks stay in Oregon City. Messrs. Andy Kocher, Chris. Kocher, John Marks and John Abbott of Marks Prairie, were prominent among the many in town Saturday. "Babe" the saddle pony of Mrs. Cass U. Barlow has been dangerously sick but under the efficient care of Veternary Surgeon Ramsby is improving. School Report. Report of school district No. 14 for the term beginning September 16, 1805 and ending March 4, 1896. No. of days taught, 112 ; No. of pupils enrolled, 63; No. of days absence, 96; No. of times tardy, 32; average atten dance, 34 7-20; No. ol visitors, 63. The names of the county aupeilnten dant, board of directors and clerk are all enrolled on the visitors' list this term.
