Mrs. H. S. Strange received her
friends on Wednesday from three to
five at her home on Sixth and Jefferson

of her sister, Miss Birtha Day is, of Cor
vallis. A most delightful afternoon was
spent by the ladies present.

Union Young People's rallies will be
held at the Baptist and Methodist
churches at the usual hour of evening
service. Pastors Kugg and Cowan will
preside at the Methodist church, and
Pastors Montgomery and Htryker at the
Baptist church. A Union Endeavor
prayer meeting is also to be held at the
Baptist church at II p. m. and a Junior
meeting at 4:30 at the same place.

Organ organised a class of the Weslevan
Methodism at Oregon City, he joined
that.
In his "S'li year he was married and
became the father of nine children live
girls anJ four boys live of which, three
girls and two boys, frosted the death
river before him. Four children mourn
the los of their father.
In 1840 he emigiated to Oiegon and
settled iu Clackamas county, where he
resided until his death He was SM
years, 1 month and 'M days old when he
died. Beside the remaining children
he has a great many friends w ho mourn
bis low.
