Temporary bead quarters one door south of Albright's Meat market Albright has just received another lot of choice cattle from the mountain ranges, which for quality cannot be ex celled. The heavy Eastern mail usually conies Sunday evening on the south bound overland for Oregon City, and Postmas ter Green has been going to the train and carrying the mail bag himself to the of fice, and with the aid of his assistants, oistributed the mail that night in order that ttie public could get their mail at an early hour in the morning. An arrangement has now been perfected whereby the messenger delivers the mail at the postoflice from the train, which very ninch facilitates matters. Postmaster Green does not allow any mail to accumulate in the office on ac count of it not being distributed. The attendance from Oregon City at the merchant's picnic was not so large as was expected, on account of the dis crimination in favor of Portland people in the matter of rates, although it esti mated that about 3,000 people were in attendance. The Oregon City baseball team bested the Portlands in a score of five to one. The members of the Ore gon City team were: George Fenni niore, J. McMannus, Clarence Fields, J. E. Hedges, Charles Pope, J. E. Rice, William Khoades, H. L. Holman and II. K, Jones. Aeeorling to the Ore!On;ati the guests at Wilhoit Springs a r.ine l a bogus ita:e hold-up a few davs since, in order to have a photograph to remind them of the genuine hold-up some of them were involved in. They got up a party of robbers in masks and armed, and went out to meet the stage. Selecting a fav orable location, the stage was loaded w'th passengers, the robbers came on the scene m all the paraphernalia of their office : the driver reigned up his team, and the passengers began shelling out, and then the photographer got in his work and immortalized the scene. The Roseburg Review gives an ac count ot the new baseball team recently organized at Marsh field. Among the members of this team are Ed Reckner and J. Paustian, formerly of Oregon City. This club goes first to Grant's Pass to attend the baseball tournament, and expect to play for purses in Med ford, Jacksonville, Ashland and Rose-burg. Remember the Webling Sisters enter tainment at Shively's opera house to night under the auspices of St. Paul's guild. This Friday evening is the time, and it will be a rare occasion to 8 end a delightfnl evening with world-renowed singers and musicians.
