For some time F.utincer Sullivan has been woiking lo find the bottom of a big pocket which came directly under the foundation wall of the outer side of the electric station, I livers were kept al the bottom of the hole on four hour shifts for days working at the loose rocks which had accumu lated there, and among the stuff re moved was one stone nearly four feet across each way. I-a't Saturday the divers reiKiried that they ' bad found bottom and Mr. Sullivan donned the diving suit and made a careful inspec tion of tlm bottom. He was satisfied with the reaiill and on Sunday began pulling in cement. At lull xt nine the hole was filled and it will now lie left lo dry for seven days after which the work of putting in the llrt section of the wait will be begun. What Ahout Hay. It Is reported that California parties are now coming into Oregon to buy hay. The object is to get it before the price raises, aa they know it w ill raise soon. The hay crop In Cal ifornia is practically destroyed, and stock men are ahady drivingheir stock out of ihe country in search of pasturage Hay in California is now selling for twenty dollars per ton, and will go higher before fall. Oreuon farmers who have a good hay crop will do well to hold it, for the price is not likely to fall. Ditow'NKii a Hakkh.
